True Blood

Rating: (I don't think I should be rating this)

Genre: Vampires, Drama
Episodes: 30 (And counting)
Cast: Anna Paquin, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, and Nelsan Ellis

"Following the creation of synthetic blood, vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) is a telepath and waitress at Merlotte's in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, owned by Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), a shapeshifter—though this secret is kept hidden. One night, Sookie meets Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), a handsome 173-year-old vampire who has returned to Bon Temps following the death of his last remaining relative. As she cannot hear his thoughts, she finds it easy to be in his company and, over the first season, the two become romantically involved."

I watched the first season so far and I'm still on the fence about it. For me, blood and gore are my favorite parts of any vampire film. I think that's why I remained interested throughout the first season. As far as it goes, I wouldn't let anyone under 18 watch this. There is a lot of violence and stuff in it that isn't appropriate for younger viewers. I don't know how much I really like the story though. I love how it was filmed, and the story is interesting enough, but I don't know if I would ever praise it. I'll have to watch season 2 and see how it goes :D

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Rating: ****

Genre: Vampires, Romance
Episodes: 144?
Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, Anthony Head, James Marsters

"At the young age of 16, Buffy was chosen to hunt vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness. After the ordeal at Hemery High Buffy Summers wound up at Sunnydale High. Joined with Willow Rosenberg and Alexander "Xander" Harris, and her watcher Giles, Buffy fights the challenges of High School and saves the world...a lot." Written by Sundae

As a rabid vampire fan, I really did enjoy this series even though there are some parts of it that weren't as per the mythology. However, if it wasn't for the amazing side cast I would probably not continued to watch the whole series. Nicholas Brendon and Alyson Hannigan did really well in their supporting roles, and I loved Alyson's character. Also, James Marsters' character (Spike) was one of my favorites. Although I don't want to include spoilers, you'll see that he becomes a main character. Spike always made the show entertaining.

Twilight

Rating: (I'll Skip this, read below as to why)
MOVIE!

Genre: Romance, Vampires
Cast: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli

"Bella Swan has always been a little bit different. Never one to run with the crowd, Bella never cared about fitting in with the trendy, plastic girls at her Phoenix, Arizona high school. When her mother remarried and Bella chooses to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she didn't expect much of anything to change. But things do change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen. For Edward is nothing like any boy she's ever met. He's nothing like anyone she's ever met, period. He's intelligent and witty, and he seems to see straight into her soul. In no time at all, they are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance - unorthodox because Edward really isn't like the other boys. He can run faster than a mountain lion. He can stop a moving car with his bare hands. Oh, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal. That's right - vampire. But he doesn't have fangs - that's just in the movies. And he doesn't drink human blood, though Edward and his family are unique among vampires in that lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. Somehow or other, they will have to manage their unmanageable love. But when unexpected visitors come to town and realize that there is a human among them Edward must fight to save Bella? A modern, visual, and visceral Romeo and Juliet story of the ultimate forbidden love affair - between vampire and mortal." Written by Summit entertainment

The reason I didn't dare give this movie a proper rating is I don't know where to base my rating. As far as the production of the script and the acting, it was pretty good. However, I personally just didn't enjoy the script and overall story. Sorry Twilight fans, but that's just my personal opinion. When it comes to Mythology, I'm a hardcore fan. I prefer things that are based on the original. Taking blood sucking vampires and making them sissy kind of ruins the fun of it for me. Of course, that's my own opinion. Feel free to give me yours.
