who's personality is different from her mother's. Will their love for
each other keep them together or will they have to face the same fate as
their parents? "
REVIEW:
I did not watch this because I was interested in the plot, but
rather because of the rabid fangirls that are my friends that raved
about how wonderful the drama was. Although I did enjoy it, there
wasn't much to be desired when it came to this drama. Melodrama just
isn't something I'm interested in. The biggest problem, though, was
that the first few episodes were boring. Truthfully, I would have
preferred to see their parents story in flashbacks or something instead
of the boring few episodes that really had no relation to the plot other
than the fact that their parents used to be in love. Although I fast
forwarded part of the last episode due to sheer boredom, I doubt that I
missed anything important. All in all, it was an okay drama if you are
bored. However, I personally would skip the first four episodes if I
had to re-watch it.

Marry Stayed Out All Night (Mary Marry Me)

Rating: *****
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Cast: Jang Geun Suk, Kim Hyo Jin, Kim Jae Wook, Moon Geun Young, Park Joon Gyu
"Wi Mae Ri is a stubborn woman and the daughter of a failed businessman without much experience in dating. She starts to date tough rocker Kang Moo Kyul. Problems arise when a perfect guy with a good background and prestigious education, Byun Jung In, gets in the way."
Ever since the beginning, this drama was very popular due to it's cast. With actors like Jang Geun Suk, Kim Jae Wook, and Moon Geun Young (who have all been in popular dramas before), most fans were excited from the get-go.
With all the excitement surrounding the drama, I must ask myself whether or not it lived up to the hype. In the end, I think that it was a pretty good drama. The story was unique, the production was wonderful, and I didn't find any inconsistencies in the script or the film. There were a few minor problems here or there, but it was definitely worth watching.

Hong Gil Dong

Rating: ****
Genre: Action, Adventure, Period Drama, Historical
Episodes: 24
Cast: Kang Ji Hwan, Sung Yu Ri, Jang Geun Suk, Kim Ri Na
"Based on a fictional book about a Robin Hood in Korea, Hong Gildong, this drama is very loosely based off of that book and the time it was set in.
Hong Gil Dong was the illegitimate son of a high ranked minister. A local monk took him under his wing and taught him martial arts. Hong Gil Dong was inspired to fight for the injustice in this society that divided people into nobles and ordinary citizens whereby the former enjoyed all the privileges due solely to their birth.
The heroine, Heo Yi Nok, had just returned to Korea from China with her grandfather. They made their living by putting on shows and selling their special brand of medicine in the marketplace.
Lee Chang Hwi had been told since he was young that he was the rightful heir to the throne which had been usurped by his half brother. He had also returned from his exile in China and was plotting to overthrow the emperor.
The three got entangled in love, hate, loyalty and betrayal and only one side can win."
This particular drama got one star removed because of the way it was produced. The script was wonderful. It is funny, has some modern puns, great dialogue, and wonderful character evolution. The acting was good too. The two main men (Kang Ji Hwan and Jang Geun Suk) were absolutely fantastic in their roles. The only problem was that it was made a little too unrealistic at times. The dancing sequences were way too modern and some of the fighting scenes weren't all that great. Other than that, though, I give this drama a big thumbs up. This is definitely a drama that made my jaw hurt from laughing so much and I loved the overall storyline. Kim Ri Na also did quite well in her role. She really made me despise her character haha...
