Rating: ****
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Family
Episodes: 16
Cast: Kang Hye Jung, Lee Kyu Han, Lee Young Eun, Lee Min Woo
SYNOPSIS:
"A mother of four daughters and the president of a kimchi factory decides
to embark on a grand marriage scheme for her children... by having them
cohabitate with four eligible bachelors."
REVIEW:
After getting multiple people telling me how wonderful this show was, I decided to finally take a gander at this show. Funny, cute, and addicting, this was well worth the watch. When I first read the synopsis, I though that it was two people that were plotting a marriage scheme for their children, but I later realized that the president of the kimchi factory and the mother were the same person. That kind of made it a little less fun, as I would have liked to see two scheming parents, but it was still fun.

SYNOPSIS:
"Yoo Ga Eun is a sweet-natured girl who dated and subsequently married her boyfriend, Park Jung Woo. However, she later discovers that her husband had an affair with her best friend, Mi Ran, and that their adopted daughter is actually Jung Woo and Mi Ran's lovechild. To get revenge on them, she marries Maeng Ho Geol, a wealthy clothing retailer, and carefully plots their downfall. At the same time, Ga Eun also meets Ha Jae Bum, the man who falls deeply in love with her and promises to support her by her side, no matter what she does. "
REVIEW:
Can I be completely honest with you, dear readers? I watched this whole series because someone told me that it was absolutely wonderful. However, I wasn't so impressed. I guess it could just be because I have never been interested in straight romance dramas, but I've been having a hard time with this whole drama. I can't say that I remember everything about it, because I've put off this drama review for such a long time, but I remember that I didn't really enjoyed it that much.

Family's Honor
Rating:****.5
Genre: Family, Romance
Episodes: 54
Cast: Jun Noh Min, Kim Sung Min, Lee Hyun Jin, Park Shi Hoo, Yoo Jung Hee
SYNOPSIS:
"Ha Dan Ah (Yoon Jung Hee) is very dignified and beautiful yet she is also pitiful. Dan Ah was married in her 20's, but due to an unforeseen event her husband died in a car accident during their honeymoon. She will be pursued by two men, a man from a rich family, Lee Kang Suk (Park Shi Hoo) and a man who's younger than her, Jung Hyun Kyu (Lee Hyun Jin). The drama will be about the Ha Family and how they try to hold up the reputation of their family name."
REVIEW:
I liked this drama, but I don't really have much to say about it. I mean, I liked it and all, but I still hate the amount of time you have to use in order to watch it. It's like... Well... Yeah, I'm really just lost for words on how to describe the feeling that I get when I watch a long drama. If a drama is an action series, the plot is usually so interesting and complicated that you can barely look away from the screen. However, when it comes to family or romance dramas, it makes me impatient. I feel like I need to go walk or something in the middle of an episode. Maybe that's just me.
In any case, I enjoyed the plot and the way that it was produced.
P.S. Omo! Do you recognize that painting in episode 3? The artist of that painting is Shin Yoon Bok, which was depicted in the drama The Painter of the Wind.

Oh! My Girl

Rating: ****
Genre: Family
Episodes: 9
Cast: Hayami Mokomichi, Kato Rosa, Okada Yoshinori, Tomosaka Rie, Yoshida Riko
"Yamashita Kotaro was living a peaceful life as a publisher part-timer pretending to be a mobile phone novelist until two females suddenly appeared in his life. One is his six-year-old celebrity niece and the other is the little girl's stern manager. As he is forced to live under the same roof as the little prodigy, their differences soon manifest and disputes ensue. However, through co-habitation, Yamashita slowly comes to appreciate having a family and the warmth it brings, all the while developing a love-hate relationship with Fuji Mineko, the manager."
Although it's not one of those dramas that you would watch over and over again, I really did enjoy watching this short little drama for the first time. Some sources say that it is a family, romance, and comedy show, but I disagree. After watching the drama, I would say that it's more of a family drama. Although there are some funny moments, it definitely shouldn't be classified as a comedy. Also, it definitely isn't a romance drama either. I really don't understand how people can watch the show and get romance out of it. Anyway, it's a drama worth watching if you enjoy family based dramas.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

(Not reviewed. See reasons below)
MOVIE
Genre: Drama, Action & Adventure, Kids & Family, Science Fiction & Fantasy, Comedy
Cast: Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer
"Balthazar Blake is a sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan fighting against the forces of evil, in particular his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath, while searching for the person who will inherit powers. This turns out to be Dave Stutler , a physics student at New York University, whom Balthazar takes as a reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling apprentice a crash course in the art and science of magic and sorcery, in order to stop Horvath and Morgana le Fay from destroying the world."
I really wanted to review a movie this week, as I haven't reviewed a movie in months. However, I watched about twenty-seven minutes of this movie and I had enough. According to some people's opinions of this movie, the reason this movie isn't very interesting is because of the action. However, that's not why I couldn't watch it. I'm fine with non-stop action when it's considered an action movie. However, with so many inconsistencies in the first half hour of the movie, I couldn't bare to watch. In my opinion, the script was horrible. The characters aren't rounded, the beginning is way too quick, the dialogue is dry, and the plot was kind of, well, "Disney-like". From the get-go, the script was barely working, and was hidden by the special effects and fight scenes. Truthfully, if it wasn't for the special effects I would have stopped watching it at ten minutes. The acting wasn't that impressive either.
In conclusion, if I were able to finish the movie without gaining a concussion by repeatedly banging my head against my wall and if the movie didn't get any better, I would have rated it one star. However, since I could only get through 1/4th of the movie, I don't feel it's right to put any rating at all. So if you want to watch The Sorcerer's Apprentice, be prepared to turn off your television.

Good Job, Good Job / Job Well Done

Rating: ****
Genre: Romance, Drama, Family
Episodes: 40
Cast: Kim Seung Soo, Chae Rim, Kim Jung Hwa, Seo Hyo Rim, Uhm Ki Joon
"Lee Kang Joo is a single mother who was abandoned by her previous boyfriend, Yoo Ho Nam. Ho Nam forgot that Kang Joo was pregnant with his child and went abroad to study. When Ho Nam returns to Korea, he wants to pick up where he left off his relationship with Kang Joo. However, Kang Joo, is not as willing to start over with Ho Nam. Choi Seung Hun is the son of Jung Soo Hee who is Kang Joo's mentor and boss. He has been pursuing Kang Joo for a while and hits a roadblock when Kang Joo's ex returns. "
Let me just state real quick that I normally don't even bother watching dramas like this. A drama with 40 episodes is kind of tough. There's always a huge amount of drama and it seems like there is a constant state of waves crashing over you. Truthfully, I have no idea how I ended up watching this series. However, I must say, it did keep me occupied. I sat down for the first episode and barely was able to tear myself away from the computer screen in order to go to bed. The acting, cast, production, and plot was great. However, since the drama was way too full of drama for my unique taste I can't give it a five star rating. I have to admit that it was definitely a drama worth watching. I was kind of hoping for Byul to have the baby brother that she wanted though lol...
