SYNOPSIS:

Will Ji An be forced to give up everything and live with the consequences of her mistake?"

REVIEW:
Although it might just be my bias of Lee Jang Woo talking, which screams of how cute he acts, I really did enjoy this drama.  Sure, there were some things that didn't quite work, but (in the end) I think it was a good drama.  I think the worst thing about this drama, though, is the name.  It is the most annoying title to have to put into a search engine.  All you get are wedding stuff.  I guess the title in Hangul is better in that you can find information on the drama, but in English it's a bit tough.  I do have to wonder if it was in anyway inspired by the 1966 Broadway musical "I Do! I Do!" which was about a married couple.  However, us viewers will probably never know.

REVIEW:
Beautiful.

As some of you may know, I've had a short novel in the back of my mind for a while now, and I've been trying to decide the basic outline for the story.  That being said, I've been watching various shows that deal with cancer patients and what they go through so that I can get some more ideas on what works and what doesn't work in the stories that are similar in nature to my upcoming literature.  However, after watching this, I'm starting to wonder if my story is worth writing.  I swear that the writer of this story read my mind.  Although the story is different, this is exactly the kind of situation I was going for.  (I guess I need to think more about my story before I go through with it.)

Simple, beautiful, and entrancing, this drama really made me want to watch more.  Although I don't usually watch pure romance dramas, I enjoyed this very much.

City Hall

Rating: *****

Genre: Romance, Comedy, Politics
Episodes: 20
Cast: Cha Seung Won, Choo Sang Mi, Kim Sun Ah, Lee Hyung Chul, Lee Joon Hyuk

"City Hall is a drama that will deal with politics in a romantic comedy genre. It’s about the happenings between a young woman mayor and an elite bureaucrat. Jo Gook is an exceedingly smart government official. He passed the Higher Civil Service quickly, and basically is the perfect guy. But being a deputy mayor is not enough for him. He lives with the dream of becoming South Korea’s President. He should have easily gone straight to the top, but due to an unexpected incident, he gets dispatched as a deputy mayor for a provincial small town, Inju City, where Shin Mi Rae was working. Shin Mi Rae is a low-ranking secretary in Inju, but she works her way up in becoming the youngest City Mayor. As their paths met, they have to deal with each other’s personal and social differences. But despite their constant bickerings, would they end up in each other’s arms?"

In all honesty, I was never interested in this drama in the first place. The only real reason I even took a chance in watching it was because numerous people said it was good. As I reflect on this drama, though, I thought it was quite good. The production, dialogue, characters, and comedy all did very good. As far as acting goes, there wasn't really many scenes that could show off an actor's acting ability so I cannot discern how good of a cast there was.

See, there is a certain aspect of acting that you cannot notice if you are not a native or fluent speaker of the language that the drama is in. This is mostly because an actor must understand the natural flow of language. An actor must know which words to emphasize and which words to minimize in the script. Although I didn't notice any major flaws in the visual aspect of the cast's acting, I cannot say much about their acting because I am not a fluent speaker of the Korean language.

In any case, I thought this was a very amusing drama and I would definitely recommend watching it.

When It's at Night

Rating: ****

Genre: Comedy, Romance
Episodes: 17
Cast: Kim Sun Ah, Lee Dong Gun, Kim Jung Hwa, Lee Joo Hyun

"Kim Bum Sang is a arts scholar who is crazy about virgins and is a supervisor of property assets. Heo Cho Hwi is a 29 year old woman who is always mistaken as someone who is crafty because of her natural-born sexiness. The story will be about how these two cross paths and how their chance meeting will cause turmoil for the both of them."

I started watching this drama a while ago but I stopped watching it for some reason at least six months ago. I am not sure why I stopped watching it either. However, yesterday I decided to try finishing it. I watched the last 7 episodes, and it was definitely worth finishing. I can't give it a five star rating because I don't remember how the first 10 episodes went, but I can give it a four easily. I hope you enjoy this drama as much as I have.

My Lovely Sam Soon

Rating: ****

Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Cast: Kim Sun Ah, Hyun Bin, Jung Ryu Won, Daniel Henney

"Kim Sam Soon (Kim Sun Ah) is a baker who has a talent in making pastries and cakes. On Christmas Eve, she caught her boyfriend, Min Hyun Woo (Lee Kyu Han), cheating on her and breaks up on the same night. On that same night, she accidentally went into the men's restroom and met Hyun Jin Hun (Hyun Bin), a somewhat callous fellow but sometimes considerate guy. By sheer coincidence, Jin Hun needs a baker for his restaurant Bon Appetit and Sam Soon is unemployed. Sam Soon is hired as the restaurant's chief baker and the two fights like cat and dog. Nevertheless, they started to have feeling for each other and Sam Soon agreed to post as Jin Hun's girlfriend so his mother would leave him alone. Things got complicated when Jin Hun's ex-girlfriend Yoo Hee Jin came back from the States intending to win him back."

This is such a fun drama. I think the most unique thing about it is that when she's daydreaming, you can't really tell. Like you'll be watching it and you won't be able to tell if it is showing her daydream or reality because there are no special effects on the daydream parts. Anyway, it's quite fun. Then again, I think half of the reason I love it is because of the violence. I don't know why, but I enjoy watching women beat up their men. Anyway, take a look at the drama, you'll be glad you did... Well, if you like romantic comedies that is.
